Our founding fathers and the framers of the Virginia constitution knew the value of a good education and that is why public education is specifically addressed in our state constitution.
ARTICLE VIII
Education
Section 1. Public schools of high quality to be maintained.
The General Assembly shall provide for a system of free public elementary and secondary schools for all children of school age throughout the Commonwealth, and shall seek to ensure that an educational program of high quality is established and continually maintained.

While our public schools in Virginia Beach do an outstanding job for our students with the resources allocated by our federal, state and local government, we still face challenges that hinder the ability of our teachers to do the best job possible for each and every student.

If you believe that our public schools in Virginia Beach can do better, that our teachers deserve the tools and resources they need to provide the best possible education we can provide and that everyone from our public school staff members, bus drivers, teachers and students deserve the chance to succeed, please consider joining and supporting my campaign for Virginia Beach School Board.
